For us, working with our hands, helping to transform spaces in our community, and bringing a bit of wild back into our city is our guiding light. At Great Blue, we believe in sharing both the labor and the profit of our work equally and by doing so we strive to create a workplace that reflects the kind of community in which we want to live. We believe in what we are doing and we have fun doing it!

By taking projects from vision to design to construction— we will bring our creativity and our love of nature to your yard.

Who’s in charge here?

Great Blue Co. was started in 2017 by a group of three childhood friends/brothers, and throughout our meandering path of building a business we have sought to make sure that the company fits the needs of those who do the work, not the other way around. This is why we value being a workers cooperative—meaningful work that we love, control over how and when we work, and time to enjoy the fruits of our labor.

Just like a native garden, our business has evolved over the years to meet the needs of its members. But you can be assured that, no matter the day, we will be out there together sharing the fun stuff and the hard stuff, and working to make space for a little more life to flourish in our city.

Madelyn AKA The Bee Whisperer! is a lover of nature, an amazing gardener and an incredibly skilled designer.

Ben AKA Mulchman! loves to tinker, experiment and design creative stormwater solutions.

Toni AKA The Human Level! is an incredible carpenter and builder, and appreciates a nice bike ride through the woods.

Luke AKA Papa Bear! handles lots of the logistics and backend when he isn’t paddling on the Gunpowder.
